Bowmore No.1 is produced using single malt Scotch whisky drawn exclusively from first-fill bourbon casks, imparting a creamy sweetness which blends well with the robust Islay smoke that Bowmore is known for.
Nutella on brown bread, sea salt and a hint of lemon zest.
Vanilla notes are up front and sweet (though earthy vanilla pod does appear after a minute). Plenty of coastal peat smoke.
Lingering smokiness.

Another NAS which is disapointing
Very smooth. Peat smoke is a fantastic finish.
As above, you either like Islay whisky, and the inherent smokiness, or you don’t, it’s not for everyone. I love it.
Thoroughly disappointing. Smell is offensive. Taste not much better. Like a cheap night out at a dodgy pub.
I bought this whiskey based on other reviews praising its smokey and peaty values. However I found the flavour rather unpleasant and synthetic. It honestly tastes like someone poured disinfectant in the cask! I suspect Bowmore just throw a smoke bomb on a spirit of no age in an attempt to create a whiskey of depth and character!
