Released in 2016, this is a well-sherried single malt from Islay's Bowmore distillery. Matured for nine years in a combo of bourbon and sherry casks, Bowmore's distinctive smokiness still shines through.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Breathe in rich cocoa, pepper and raisins balanced with citrus tang and wisps of Islay smoke.
Complex sherry with peat smoke followed by dark fruits and sweet crème caramel.
Savour the perfect balance of sea salt and peat smoke.

Not sure why this is getting good reviews, it's not good, there are a lot better available, in the same price range or cheaper & I could name a good half a dozen blended as well.
Strange at first taste, maybe even not good.... but I just finish my bottle and ready to buy another one of this DIFFERENT sherry cask expression .
Soft and gently smoky. Plenty of sherry sweetness. Eminently drinkable for the price.
This is my first Bowmore (certainly not my first Islay though). I do smell and taste the Sherry influence. On the smell you don't get much smoke, but on the taste you definatly get smoke ('campfire/ashtray'). So, the combination of sherry/smoke is present and not bad at all. Is it as good as a Lagavulin or Ardbeg or Laphroaig.. No. I wouldn't pay 40 euro for it, but at €25 it is in the sweet spot. Then i should buy it again.
Very good stuff...
