A single cask bottling of 30 year old Bowmore single malt, presented as part of the Xtra Old Particular range by Douglas Laing. This whisky was distilled back in November 1987 and left to age in a refill butt until March 2018, when Douglas Laing bottled it with an outturn of only 135 bottles.
Peated and oceanic on the nose, with tobacco and its sherry history evident. The palate opens salty with iodine, then malt melding with damp wood smoke. The finish is rather barley sugar sweet now, with more phenols and cough drops.
