Description
Indie bottler Uncharted Whisky presents a splendid single malt from Bowmore here. Distilled in 2004, this whisky spent 21 years maturing in refill bourbon casks before bottling at cask strength, a satisfying 51.3% ABV. A release of 261 bottles, packed with tropical fruit, soft salinity, mellow oak, and rounded peat.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Tropical fruit juice, unctuous and thick. The peat soft, gentle and coastal without any hint of medicine at all.
Palate
Tropical fruits abound. Yes it is salty but the peat element has been smoothed round by time. Oak is present without overpowering or being too dry.
Finish
The tropical fruit hangs around for ages - it’s the first thing to arrive and the last to go. The peat, salt, oak and spice all jostle for position in the middle.
