Bowmore 18 Year Old 2001 (Release No.11715) - The Stories of Wind & Wave (The Character of Islay Whisky Company)
Released as part of The Character of Islay Whisky Company's independent bottling range, The Stories of Wind & Wave (if you've been on the ferry to Islay, you'll know all about that name), this right here is an 18 year old Bowmore single malt! It was distilled all the way back in 2001, and aged in a refill bourbon barrel before being bottled up at cask strength.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Tarry ropes and kippers, with some citrus sweetness thrown in for good measure.
Palate
Vanilla pods, more citrus peels, seaweed and a hint of fresh florals.
Finish
Dark roast coffee, brown sugar and sea salt.
