Bowmore Enigma is a 12-year-old expression with a higher proportion of sherry matured whisky than the standard bottling. Bottled for the travel retail market, this is rich with treacly sweetness and dark chocolate.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Sherry, malty toffee, biscuit oats, roast spicy pork.
Heavily sherried with a wisp of wood smoke. Lots of pepper and spice with black treacle sweetness and a hint of dark chocolate.
Short with a white pepper sweetness.
Another easy-drinking Bowmore.

Bought this at Duty free, thought it was the regular Bowmore. I like peaty, smoky scotch, (Lagavulin being my favorite) but this just doesn't deliver. Way too much Sherry flavor, which overbalanced everything else.
My first reaction was wow that taste very earthy. The sweetness creeps in over it. Lots of smoke in the nose. I like it very much and is quite different than the other scotches on my collection. I would definitely suggest this.
By far the worst Bowmore I've tasted. I have fond memories of Bowmore Dusk and other ilks, but this is a let down. Poor show.
First time to taste this Islay dram, nice balanced of flavours as what you expect from an Islay malt... If you like peaty and smoky notes in your whiskey this is the one..
