Bowmore 11 Year Old 2014 (Thompson Bros.)

A scorching single malt from Bowmore, independently bottled by Thompson Bros. Distilled in 2014, this whisky spent 11 years maturing in refill barrels, with 290 bottles included in this UK exclusive release. Coastal smoke, creamy grist, tropical fruits, and Turkish Delight, with a rugged Islay backbone.

    Tasting Note by The Producer

    Nose

Opens with “low and slow” peat-smoked pineapple and toasted grist. A nostalgic sweetness follows with cream soda, tonka bean, vanilla, and white “milk bottle” sweets. The profile then takes a sharp, industrial turn toward brined green pepper, soot, paraffin, and a coal scuttle, finished with a medicinal hint of dental rinse and the vegetal smoke of a fine Mezcal.

    Palate

The BBQ’d pineapple carries through, now served alongside a vibrant, brined green chilli and lime salsa. The mid-palate returns to the confectionery shop with milk bottles, vanilla sugar, and authentic almond Turkish Delight. It hits a peak of sweetness before swinging back into its rugged Islay roots: heavy smoke, earthy peat, and thick soot.

    Finish

Long and coastal. It moves into bitter meadow herbs and dry, lingering peat smoke, with a touch of damp clay.
