A cask strength variation on the brilliant Boondocks 11 Year Old American Whiskey, created by former Woodford Reserve master distiller Dave Scheurich. Build using a mashbill featuring plenty of corn, along with rye and malt, this whiskey is distilled to over 160 proof (or 80% ABV) and matures in used charred white oak barrels instead on brand new ones, hence why it isn't considered a bourbon. It's bourbon-esque, but not a bourbon, y'know. Oh, and the cask strength is bottled at a hefty 63.5% ABV!
Strong coffee with just a splash of milk, rich cherry sweetness and a subtly floral hint.
Toasted almonds and spicy rye, underneath layers of brown sugar and cookie dough.
Lingering buttery corn and stem ginger.

Unexpectedly delicious, it tastes rich and delicate, sweet, I like it very much
First bought this in Florida, on a whim! So glad I can buy it in the UK as well. It's an intensely flavoured American sipping whiskey. Very strong yet super smooth. I personally prefer this to the standard 11yo, so does my wife, it's now our favourite American whiskey. It's so much better than the usual, well known brands of Bourbon in the supermarkets, I know it's not technically a Bourbon, but I think the used barrels give a much more broad, well balanced flavour spectrum compared to the virgin barrels used to age Bourbon, and it's flavourful enough to cope with the high ABV.
