Booker's True Barrel Bourbon, named after Booker Noe, Jim Beam's grandson and former Master Distiller, was first released in 1992. A small batch straight Kentucky bourbon, each batch is generously matured and bottled at cask strength, resulting in rich, full-bodied whiskey. Perhaps a drop of water or two wouldn't go amiss with this intense expression.
Apologies! I wrote a scathing review of this bourbon on the 7 th of June saying that it was the worst bourbon I had ever tasted. I think that my palate must have been adversely affected by something because on further tasting I am forced to revise my opinion. Whilst this is perhaps not my favourite it is very good. Grovelling apologies to all!
I am a real bourbon enthusiast. I wanted to buy a bottle of Blanton’s but Master of Malt we’re out of stock so I thought I would try this. Straight from the barrel, what could go wrong? Well, this is without doubt the very worst bourbon I have ever tasted. Yes it is quite smooth for the high alcohol content but apart from that it is appalling!. Any value for money brand like Makers Mark or Four Roses is so superior that any comparison is insulting to those brands. Booker’s, do us a favour and pour it back into the barrel. Please avoid!
Mahogany in appearance. Nose shows pronounced notes of smoky oak and light vanilla. The palate is very smooth with very little alcohol bite. Moderately intense flavors of light oak throughout. Caramel on the finish.
A very smooth and deep Bourbon. Reminded me why Bourbon was 'my drink' when I was a few years younger. Think I just fell in love, again! Another bottle or two of this, please...
By God, this is good!
