The third pact has been made. That ominous-sounding sentence is not quite as foreboding as it seems, for it is simply announcing the arrival of the third bottling of Blood Oath Bourbon! As with the previous batches, this is a blend of three rye-heavy bourbons, though this time, a portion of the whiskey has been finished in Californian Cabernet Sauvignon barrels.
Dark chocolate, raspberries, vegetal oak, dried orange peel.
Burnt sugar, vanilla pod, honey-covered sultanas, toasted almond.
Continued caramel sweetness, with a good whack of peppery rye heat on the end.
