Murray McDavid
Scotland
Single Malt

This eight-year-old single malt from Blair Athol joins the Benchmark collection from indie bottler Murray McDavid. Distilled in 2015, the whisky initially matured in bourbon hogsheads before finishing in a combo of first-fill Port and Madeira casks.
Summer fruits and berries, buttery oak, candied nuts, biscuity malt.
Rich notes of cherries join floral layers of honeyed stone fruits, with a touch of peppercorn warmth beneath.
Creamy notes of milk chocolate, a touch of nougat and sweet cakey spice.

I bought this as a birthday present for myself. What a superb whisky! The tasting notes are spot on. My wife likes it and she is not generally a whisky drinker (prefers bourbon) and she said it was something like a brandy, which I can understand. This is the first bottle I have had from Murray McDavid, and it has me wondering what other delights they offer.
