Description
From The Single Cask's range of... Well, single cask bottlings (it's an apt name for an indie bottler) comes a 7 year old single malt distilled by Blair Athol back in 2013. It was bottled up in February 2021 following a finishing period in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez octave cask, with an outturn of only 75 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Flaky pastry with a mineral edge, swiftly followed by sweet ginger notes and a hint of mango.
Palate
Zesty citrus and a hint of chocolate, before flapjack and honey notes take shape. A good kick of dry barley spiciness underneath.
Finish
The mineral hints from the nose return, with a smidge of summer berry tart.
