Joining the Infrequent Flyers collection from indie bottler Alistair Walker comes this splendid 15 year old single malt from Blair Athol. Distilled in August 2006, the whisky was matured in a single cask, including a finishing period in a cask that previously held Moscatel sweet wine, imparting beautifully rich fruity notes to this classic Highlander. A release of 281 bottles.
Honeyed stone fruits with wafts of peach and apricot, a touch of fig, with underlying floral, grassy notes.
Sweet shortbread, orange zest, juicy sultanas, and biscuity malt with wafts of vanilla, dark chocolate, and distant drying herbs.
Sugared nuts, sweet, toasty oak with a touch of nutmeg, and warming spice.
