An 8 year old Bladnoch, bottled at cask strength, this was aged in a single sherry cask. A stunning dram from the Lowland distillery, albeit with a picture of sheep on the label! Distilled on the 3rd March 2001 and aged on the 20th January 2010. Aged in sherry butt 28.
Peppery and spicy with big toffee sweetness and cut hay. Floral and reminiscent of the countryside.
Rich and floral, like a spicy version of rose petal jelly - perhaps made with ginger and nutmeg, and a little oak. Vanilla too.
Cinnamon, vanilla and butterscotch on the finish. Loads of character.

Opened it and tried it. It is floral (as most Bladnochs are) but has a warm spicy toffee finish. Wish I had kept it unopened as I can’t find another.
