Black Velvet Reserve 8 Year Old Whisky

(100cl, 40%)

Black Velvet Reserve 8 Year Old

Black Velvet Reserve 8 yo Bottling Note

Black Velvet Reserve is creted by blending both unaged and aged corn and rye before maturing the result for 8 years. A step up from the incredibly popular regular Black Velvet Canadian whisky (which is around 3 years old).

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Caramelised orchard fruits, sweet and spicy rye notes, smoky toffee and some dark fruit throughout.

Avoid at all costs
Gave me the worst frontal lobe headache. As bad as a migraine. A slimy cold feeling n night sweats. It is smooth. But the drunk goes straight to your eyes and it doesn't feel clear or good. Also sickly. Like i need to throw up but cant.

Smooth.
Great little supper from Canada, and for right around $10 you can't beat it.

Tasty
I enjoy mostly bourbon, but this is an exception. Smooth and delicious. Soft and warm, as comfy as your favorite pair of slippers. On the nose and palate I get butterscotch and Carmel. Not really too much oak, it's just right. If you like regular BV, then I highly recommend BV Reserve. Cheers!

Solid sipping option for Canadian Whisky
I like Canadian whisky. Having said that, Black Velvet Reserve 8 yr is right down the middle for a strike! Although standard BV is very good for mixing, Reserve 8 provides a solid Canadian option for those of us who enjoy a variety for sipping (bourbon, rye, scotch, Irish, etc.). It’s nearly as good as Crown Royal, which is also a strike, however Reserve 8 costs me $9.99! Go for it!
