Douglas Laing have decked out Big Peat in festive livery once again in time from Christmas 2018! The Big Peat at Christmas bottling have become a tradition for the independent bottler, and enjoying the cask strength variation of the Islay-whisky-based blended malt has become a tradition amongst whisky fans worldwide. This year, the label features Big Peat dressed as a Santa, trying to shimmy his way down a chimney to bestow gifts - though he's got a bit stuck... Just like Winnie-the-Pooh...
Dense smoke and coastal air, punctuated by hints of pineapple.
Ash and earthy oak, with layers of cooking spice and boiled sweeties.
Lingering hints of soot and white pepper.

Wonderfully butch but smooth peated whisky with peat, smoke, pipe tobacco and leather. It's a well-rounded whisky and a great alternative to Douglas Laing's normal Big Peat (46% ABV). A special Christmas treat which, if you can buy enough, is great to drink all-year. A great smoke dragon but with plenty of nose and palate beyond the smoke
Too many drams made me think this was good
