An intriguing indie single malt Scotch whisky here from Berry Bros. & Rudd, distilled on Islay (though the distillery goes unmentioned on its label) back in 2014. It was eventually bottled in 2021 following a finishing period in a Guyanese rum barrel, imparting a helping of sweetness to the powerfully peaty whisky. 254 bottles were produced, weighing in at an intense 65.3% ABV.
Roasted oak and salty seaweed, with a hint of TCP too. Underneath you'll find hints of juicy orange and brown sugar tucked away.
Subtle vegetal notes waft through the rich smoke, with more vibrant fruit developing later on. Spicy pepper and a smidge of liquorice.
Lasting salinity on the long finish.
