Williamson 2014 #06004 Bottling Note

An intriguing indie single malt Scotch whisky here from Berry Bros. & Rudd, distilled on Islay (though the distillery goes unmentioned on its label) back in 2014. It was eventually bottled in 2021 following a finishing period in a Guyanese rum barrel, imparting a helping of sweetness to the powerfully peaty whisky. 254 bottles were produced, weighing in at an intense 65.3% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Roasted oak and salty seaweed, with a hint of TCP too. Underneath you'll find hints of juicy orange and brown sugar tucked away.

Palate: Subtle vegetal notes waft through the rich smoke, with more vibrant fruit developing later on. Spicy pepper and a smidge of liquorice.

Finish: Lasting salinity on the long finish.
