Benromach 50 Year Old 1969 (cask 2003)

Awesomely well-aged Benromach, this 1969 vintage single malt was left in a single sherry hogshead for an entire half a century! After 50 long years, the gently smoky Speysider was bottled June 2019. Just 125 of these handsome decanters were produced, at 44.6% ABV. Check out that presentation box, too! It's almost like a tiny wardrobe just for keeping the whisky in.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose

Savour sweet sherry aromas, the sweet luxury of prune syrup, stewed raisins, brown sugar and warm spices. Hints of butterscotch, ginger and candied orange peel appear before giving way to undertones of gentle smoke.

Palate

A peppery opening leads to ripe apricot and peach with subtly-sweet dried tobacco leaf, revealing a soft menthol edge and a lingering, fruity, mellow oak finish.
