Sherry
Here we have a single cask Benromach, distilled in 2011 at the Speyside-based distillery. It was left to mature in a single sherry hogshead until 2019, when it was bottled up at 59.1% ABV as a Distillery Exclusive. Just 299 well-sherried cask strength bottles were released, full of fruit and spices.
Cooked apple and caramel, cinnamon and oak char, with heaps of red fruit.
Black pepper, Medjool dates and toffee apple, with a delicate hint of smoke alongside fruitcake.
Waxy orange peel appears alongside ginger and dark chocolate biscuits.
