Benromach 2003 Small Batch Edition #1
The inaugural release in Benromach’s Small Batch series is a 22-year-old peated Speysider matured in first-fill bourbon and sherry casks. Distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2025 at 56% ABV, this limited release of 979 bottles delivers the distillery’s trademark combination of old-school smoke, fruit, and sherry richness in beautifully concentrated form.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Red berries, orange zest, pipe tobacco, and fruitcake, with soft bonfire smoke drifting underneath.
Palate
Dark honey, stewed fruit, milk chocolate, and cinnamon spice evolve into toasted oak and earthy peat smoke.
Finish
Lingering smoke, dried fruit, and cocoa powder.
