I tried the heavy peated 10 year a while ago and found it to be very one dimensional but with this classic 10 year that is not the case.Definitely sherried but with a beautiful charred oak, scorched honey ,dry herbal finish. Not as fruity as some sherried whiskys but very complex for just 10 years old a quality bottle indeed very happy with this. Very good overall. Close but not quite *there*. For me the finish was lacking, it is a little bitter at the end. The nose and initial palate feel like they're taking you on a familiar journey, but it doesn't quite close the loop. Good effort though, and a fair price as well, better than many in this range that I have tried so far.
Damn this is good.......bloody good !!!!!!
This is not a 10y ..... Smooth, complex, well balanced and the list goes on... Skip the Hazelburn 12 and go straight for this, you`ll save and have a pretty similar experience. Just go get it...
Being a pensioner and living in South Africa at an unbelievably dismal GBP exchange rate, Benromach 10 is not something I can routinely afford. It came to me by way of a special birthday gift. Having been a single malt lover for more than 30 years, I can honestly say that Benromach 10 is one of the best taste experiences I have ever had. Vernon Varty Cape Town
