Incredible whiskey. Definitely best bang for your buck, but this statement doesn't do it justice because it's just so damn good. If you mixed the best parts of a Balvenie 15 single barrel (not the new sherry 15), Glendronach 12, with the faintest hint of peat like in Bunnahabhain 12. You'd probably get this. So good. Depending on my mood, I might almost prefer this to my beloved Springbank (probably not, but maybe...:;)
Just started my 2nd bottle of this and it is as excellent as I remember. I'd concur with the notes above but add that it is more peaty and smokey than you may be expecting. Not Islay levels though. I'm not sure if there is a better vfm scotch whisky out there at the minute. Keep keepin' it real MoM and Benromach :)
One of the best entry level whiskies one can buy. Very well balanced, drinkable and affordable (around 40-45 euros here in Holland).
I didn't enjoy this as much as everyone else it seems! I liked the unique earthy notes to it & the very mature sherry elements. I always feel like it's a cop out to bottle it shy of 46% .... maybe i've just been drinking too long!
One of the best I've tried. Like Glenfarclas, that dunnage/damp Earth note comes through and gives an immediate sense of class and quality. More peaty and smokey on the nose and finish than I would have thought but that's not a bad thing imo. Very well balanced, some red fruits and sherry notes but with a little water the vanilla and bourbon influence comes through. Nothing dominates but lots going on. I have paid more for less . . . well done Benromach
