Ooh, Benromach 10 year old bottled at a significantly higher strength - 100° Proof (more commonly known as 57% ABV these days). Intense and flavourful, with a good whack of smoke and Sherried malt at its core, this ought to be an excellent choice for winter evenings.
Dark chocolate with vanilla cream at its core. Dates, banana and peat smoke creeping in.
A rather big palate with dark fruits and smoky embers. Oak-y hints on the mid-palate give it yet more character
Smoke persists on the long finish.

An excellent 10-year whisky with an excellent price. Very smooth, ideal to start drinking before strongest ones.

Deep taste, amazing..
I buy this benromach today and the tastes are beautiful! For this price, this is the whisky you have to buy...a real whisky
I have tried a few of Aberlour's A'Bunadh batches and liked them. At first, you get a good flavour of the sherry casks; rich and creamy. This is soon gone, and flavours of vanilla and oak then give way to tarry treacle with a good but not over strong hint of smoke which lasts for ages. As the Master of Malt tasting notes say, this is a mouthful of big flavours, but it is also smooth. A good winter's night whisky. I added just a little water, so probably drinking at about 45-50%. Will buy again
