This single malt from Benrinnes is brought to us by the gang at That Boutique-y Whisky Company. The whisky matured for 11 years in a trio of hogsheads, and there's an in-depth lesson on whisky distillation underway on the label.
Batch 10 is a release of 1,179 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends, all adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels. The brand won Spirits Bottler of the Year at the 2023 Spirits Business Awards, and Blender of the Year went to Sam Simmons, captain of the Boutique-y clan who oversees every one of these releases.
Zesty marmalade on white bloomer bread, vanilla and lemon zest, followed by raisins and tangy malt.
More sharp orange notes and dried fruit are joined by bitter herbs, winter spice and a hint of nutty oak.
