This is one of the finest bottlings of whisky I have ever tasted. It is the prime example that a young scotch can be a really good one. Good nose, exceptional taste, and great aftertaste. It is bold, flavorful, and causes every salivary gland to kick into full steam. With so many whiskies with exquisite noses and zero taste, this bottling shines. I have about 20 open bottles (mostly official), but the Hepburn's Choice Benrinnes 6 QC is the dram I wanted on a summer's evening and one that brought several wine loving friends to whisky. Though I loved sharing this gem with loved ones, the mixed bag is my bottle was popular and the bottling is extinct. Alas I was able to pick up a sample which I will save for a special occasion. I suspect what really makes this go is the quarter cask. As a comparison I find Stronachie 10 (also Benrinnes) boring. I hope Langside as Laphroaig will continue with QCs.
