This was distilled at Benrinnes in October 1984 before a 28 year maturation in a single cask (sherry puncheon number 2269). It was bottled at natural cask strength in 2012 and there are just 285 numbered bottles. A fabulous malt from the Carn Mor range.
Soft sherry on the nose, with just a hint of rubber and mixed herbs. Olives and citrus.
Gingerbread and malt core, with notes of sultanas and hints of blackcurrant. Very interesting indeed. A little cocoa, perhaps some mint.
Long, spicy finish. Ginger and toasted barley.
