Brilliant Benrinnes single malt, independently bottled by Alistair Walker for the Infrequent Flyers series. Distilled in 2006, this expression spent 16 years resting up in a single ex-Moscatel hogshead, which yielded a total outturn of 282 bottles, at 57% ABV.
Zesty helpings of fresh lemon peels and lemon curd, with nutty malt and warming spices balanced by runny caramel.
A crackle of pepper opens things up before honeyed nuts and candied almonds arrive. Biscuity malt, sweet dates, and prunes follow.
Still nutty with notes of maple syrup and flapjack, vanilla and dense oak.
