A brill Benriach here, independently bottled for the Darkness range, which is all about richly sherried whiskies. So, you know what you're getting into here. This one was finished in an Oloroso sherry octave cask, imparting the aforementioned sherried richness, and has been bottled up at 56.8% ABV.
Stewed summer berries, apple turnovers, a hint of flaky pastry dusted with icing sugar.
Intense dried fruit and more pastry notes, with a touch of coffee along the way.
Fiery ginger, sultana, prune, and walnut.
