Benriach 24 Year Old 1994 (cask 6500) - Peated, Marsala Cask
Drawn from a single cask, this 24 year old Benriach was distilled back on 15 July 1994. The peated whisky was left to age for over two decades in a sweet Marsala hogshead, and when it turned 24 it was bottled for Benriach's 16th batch of single cask releases. A limited 299 bottles at 51.8% ABV were released, full of honeyed fruits and lovely smoky notes.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Chargrilled apricot leads to honey, eucalyptus leaf and roast chestnut, with a savoury spice.
Palate
Barbecued apricot and root beer with blackcurrant and beeswax. Apricot, cherry stone and leather linger into the longlasting sweetly smoked finish.
