Unfortunately, we can't ship BenRiach 22 Year Old Moscatel Wood Finish to the United States at the moment, but we've got some friends who can.
BenRiach 22yo Moscatel Bottling Note
A 22 year old single malt from the BenRiach distillery, which was finished in casks that previously held Moscatel wine. This finishing period has imparted a rich, fruity sweetness to the whisky, which blends well with BenRiach's robust flavour profile.

Producer's Tasting Notes:
Nose: A full, sumptuous nose consisting of dark orange marmalade, rich fig syrup and sweet dates. A dusting of cocoa and cinnamon followed by a gentle a hint of garden mint adds a luxurious character.
Palate: Rich, velvety dark chocolate fondant topped with glazed maraschino cherries develops to plum cordial and spiced honey. The long finish is rounded with a gentle, earthy balance of nutmeg, stewed barley and old vintage leather.

BenRiach 22 Year Old Moscatel Wood Finish Reviews
Nice. Value for money. Falls short of greatness
Nose: Bitter Orange, Spicy. That bit if menthol that comes with aged whiskies. (Glenfarclas 25 / family casks have this too)
Palate: Overpowering taste of the Moscatel cask. Red berries, orange, dark chocolate, honey.
Finish: Long. Fruit cake.
As much as the age & the Moscatel finish is great (bitter orange, dark chocolate, red berries), I feel this whisky could have been a lot better with some more effort rather than surrendering a well matured whisky just to depend on the Moscatel cask finish. I will pick a Macallan 18 or a Old Pulteney 21 any day over this BenRiach 22. To me the Moscatel cask sort of saves this whisky. Distillery character is underwhelming.

Quite nice
A wonderful scotch to nose. Very sweet with red fruits, vanilla and toffee sneaking in. The palate is complex with red fruits like cherries and strawberries perhaps. Sweet spices as well rounding it all out.

I bet this tastes absolutely fantastic and would I savour every last sip. I've asked whisky santa but one can only hope and I just wonder if Master Of Malt, sorry, Whisky Santa actually give away bottles of pure joy like this. Simply Amazing stuff.
