Benriach 21yo Tawny Port Bottling Note

This 21 year old malt is part of Benriach's Wood Finish or Cask Finish range, where whiskies mature in refill American oak casks before spending a finishing period in a more active wine or fortified wine cask. In this case, it has been finished in ex-Tawny Port hogsheads!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Producer's Tasting Note:
Nose: A perfect balance of fresh cranberries and warm white pepper develops to a combination of tart raspberries and boiled candy.
Palate: Delicious toasted oak spices and hints of orange peel develop to a lively contrast of wild red berry compote and sour cherries, followed by a rich stewed barley character.

Benriach 21 Year Old Tawny Port Cask Finish Reviews

Mulled scotch

The tasting notes are bang on here - this is a lovely mix of spice and warmth, with a subtle hint of caramel smell and a lingering, slight berry finish. Love this one. Any more port and it would be too far gone but it’s perfect.
