A 21 year old Benriach single malt here, independently bottled up by the awesome Adelphi! This expression was distilled in 1999 and allowed to age in a refill bourbon barrel until 2020, when it was bottled at cask strength (a hefty 59.9% ABV) with an outturn of 182 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Apple turnover with flaky pastry and a dusting of icing sugar, a little papaya, very slightly floral.
Palate
Sugared almonds and toasted walnuts, hickory, more apple, marzipan and melon.
Finish
Black pepper, cinnamon and another hint of hickory.
