Benriach 11 Year Old 2008 (cask 2506) - Peated, Bourbon Cask
11 year old peated single malt from the Benriach Distillery, released as part of its 16th batch of single cask bottlings. We're a big fan of Benriach's peaty whiskies, and this one does not disappoint. It was distilled in March 2008 and left to age in a single bourbon barrel until 2019, when it was bottled at cask strength - a generous 59.4% ABV. Only 93 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Smoked mint and blackcurrant from a mountain campfire, with bramley apple sauce.
Palate
Grilled red grape smothered in olive oil with smoked angelica and star anise, progressing to a charred apple and maple finish.
