Reviews for Benriach Heredotus 12 Year Old (Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask Finish)
Masterpiece
Was lucky enough to get 2 (last in PL ?) somehow round 2014. Opened one, still remember the shock what was all within.. smoke, sweets, almost no alcohol (kept it in the glass for +/- 30 mins).. Anyone to explain why such MASTERPIECE is being discontinued? Keep the 2nd bottle to open up with my son, on a very importanticus day someday to come 😎💪

Amazing yet discontinued
This makes me sad. I have finished the last bottle, and can't seem to buy it anywhere. Great quality to price ratio on this one. Lagavulin destroyer. I loved this dram.

"Don't judge a book by its cover"
Terrible name, terrible bottle, but what's inside is amazing!
For us phenol lovers, It's all you want in life, balance!!! The combination of the heavily peated barley, speyside creamy goodness and the wonders of a PX sherry finish have melded together so well and offer you an exclusive ( less than 3200 bottles) and value-for-money juicy, dry, malted goodness that breathes peated smoke and drinks sherried wine!
Buy one, great stuff!

Ardbeg beater,
I have been drinking this whiskey for two zears and am on mz third bottle. totally consistant, top quality, beatiful nose px cask influence shines through, slight cream of the Harveys kind, peat reek always there, lovely. Palate, peat, orange, strong citrus, sharp at first, smoothes over a bit with water, cream liquorice, honey, true sherry notes right to the end . 92/100.

Goood
Completely agree with Salmon man below. I am a Talisker fan and asked at my local for something peaty that wasn't Talisker. This is what I ended up with.

It is similar to the T 10. And its really good. I've never heard of these guys before today, but with a bottle of this to share amongst the kin I am sure they will enjoy it. I can happily recommend it.

Great with smoked salmon
The closest taste I have to this is Talisker, but this as far from Talisker as Apocalypse is from mutants

Superb !!!
It can easily play in the same league as Ardbeg, Laphroaig and other Islay malts do... just you pay less. Incredible value for money, this is a top-notch smoky dram.

Shame I have morals
I would love to give this one star to ensure that there is more available when I come back but..... , share the love, this is a great dram. If this came out of a distillery that was 'known' you would be paying more. My favourite sherry/peat mix(second bottle).Only reason I dont give it a 10 is because the depth is lacking slightly, but to be fair its a 12yr at just over £30, I am going to change my rating to 10.
