Arumaticus is part of a release of just 1,240 bottles, this peated 12 year old single malt from the BenRiach distillery was aged in ex-bourbon casks before enjoying a finish in dark rum casks.
Nose: Slabs of peat! Sweet cereals waft in and out.
Palate: Rich and peaty, more supple than the nose suggests. Sweet barley, lots of smoke, the interplay between rum and the darkness of BenRiach is quite spectacular.
Finish: Bittersweet syrupy Muscovado.

I may not be a connoisseur but I do enjoy a good glass of scotch whisky, I did try at least 20 different kinds and this is by far my favourite. Unfortunately, I can't find it anywhere anymore :(

The interplay between the cleaniness of malt and the peat is very subtle, yet very enjoyable. The aromas of hot day meadow in the northern country are of extraterestrial genre! The finish with peat and heather.
