“I've been looking for this whisky for some years now. Finally hunted one down and oh boy what a treat. Speyside peated whiskies always bring something very special to the table. Not the peat fist of Islay, rather a peat glove. And straight bourbon aged Benriach always a treat. ”

Description

A fabulous 25 year old BenRiach and peated too, which is unusual for a Speyside malt. This is the next step up after the lovely 21 year old Authenticus, offering up more complexity and power as well as oodles of smoke.

This bottle was part of a private collection and may show signs of wear if of a certain vintage - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Nose

Tropical and fruit-filled with notes of tangy peat, pineapple, verbena, oily smoke and malt.

Palate

Very fruity and rich, with an explosion of peat smoke and dried herbs, a hint of fresh Provence Basil, a little pepper, cedar wood, honey and blossom.

Finish

Good length; fruity and rounded.
