“Saw this on the Buffalo Trace website, so decided to give it a try. Found it on the bottom shelf for $12.75 in Iowa. It is not a bottom shelf bourbon, but that doesn't bother me. It's my new go-to.”

Description

Benchmark by name, benchmark by nature. This really is one for the more well Bourbon producers to beat, and despite its status as an outsider, really warrants some attention - especially if cocktails are on the menu.

Nose

Aromatic and quite sweet. Soft toasty spices, salted caramel and vanilla pod earthiness.

Palate

A creamy spirit carrying custard, toffee apple and biscuity notes.

Finish

Cinnamon, chocolate digestives and tangerine.
