Reviews for MacDonald's Glencoe 8 Year Old
Olive brine & sunshine
Dirty, nasty, filthy, muddy, meaty...and I love it! The whisky equivalent of a dirty martini. Salty and sweet. Just go easy on the water; don’t reduce the strength too much.

Lovely Jubbley !!!!
What a Whisky ! A drinking Whisky ! Packs a punch , if a Whisky could be described as ' Meaty' this would be it . A 'Proper Job'
Bought one at the Distillery, loved it!
But as I'm in England , and it's in Scotland ,where I don't think I'd be welcome, I'll have to order online.
Look forward to the next bottle!

Strong and fruity. To be savoured.
A great sipping whisky that is to be savoured. Fruity on the palate with a serious bit. Neck it and you'll be sorry. Serve with an ice cube or a little chilled water just to take off the slightly rough bite.

Fabulous
One of the best cask strength whiskeys you will ever get, and the price, amazing, sip and sip, you will love it, third bottle, all from the distillery

If at first you don't succeed...
Open and pour and you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd bought a dud. It's harsh with an unpleasant petroleum edge and a touch of sulphur. 5 days later this is a very different dram. A period of oxidisation works wonders, stripping away the harsh notes and letting the malty core and rich flavours take over. So if at first your not impressed, give this dram time and you'll be rewarded.

Buy it and enjoy 5 star as higher not allowed.
I have had the pleasure of finding glencoe in a small off licence in Peterhead(.many years before the internet). It has a flavour like no other then warms the throat and snuggles down to the belly . It has to be savoured ,knock it back at your own peril .i sit in a chair , log on the fire and enjoy. Difficult to get but worth it. It is not even in the large whisky store outside of Edinburgh castle the lad they had not heard of it .

Worth 35quid of anyones money
A belter. Non chill filtered, non coloured, age statement, cask strength full flavoured, unbelievable price. Tastes a bit earthy and sherried for sure. Why pay over the odds for packaging. This is a diamond in the rough

GREAT!
Really full taste, quite woody with sweetness at the start, fruityness in the middle and little bit dry ending, one of my most favourite.
