Description

A mature Ben Nevis selected as Ross in the Thanes series of Livingstone’s Macbeth Collection. The 28-year-old Highland single malt was matured in refill hogsheads, allowing plenty of the distillery’s famously weighty, fruity character to survive its long maturation. Bottled at 50.4% ABV, with 850 bottles listed for release.

Nose

Redcurrant and baked apple with mango, malt biscuits and mixed nuts. A little white pepper, wax and earthy minerality develops underneath.

Palate

Rich and oily, with apple, red berries and tropical fruit leading into barley sugar and almond. Savoury malt, pepper and a touch of dried meat add classic Ben Nevis heft.

Finish

Orchard fruit, barley sugar, white pepper, nuts and a mineral, slightly salty edge.
