This decadent Ben Nevis single malt was matured in a single refill Sherry hogshead for 21 years, taking on a most handsome hue. Filled on 16th May 1994, we bottled it on 17th August 2015. The outturn was 296 bottles at a natural cask strength of 49.2% ABV. As ever, there's no chill filtration and certainly no artificial colouring.
Figs and greengages, a little Dolly Mix and marzipan then blackcurrant, nettle and dried apricot. Syrupy, concentrated Malbec-like chocolateyness follows.
Sweet raisins and sultanas and more of that vinous chocolatey character with a touch of royal icing. Sumptuous, very thick and moreish.
Luxurious, silky sweet dates, cassis and a hint of oak.
