This batch of Ben Nevis single malt is brought to us by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. The whisky matured for a total of 21 years in a single sherry butt, and its brimming with layers of chocolate orange and sweet red fruits.
A release of 382 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends, all adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels. The brand won Spirits Bottler of the Year at the 2023 Spirits Business Awards, and Blender of the Year went to Sam Simmons, captain of the Boutique-y clan who oversees every one of these releases.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Old coins, boiled citrus sweets and salted caramel, with notes of milky coffee, cheddar and exotic fruit in support.
Palate
Plenty of butterscotch and winter spice at the forefront, with dark fruits, a little citrus sharpness and a touch of oily nuttiness and dark chocolate underneath.
Finish
Woody tannins, orange peels, and tropical fruit sweetness linger.
