Description

Duncan Taylor gave this Ben Nevis a three-month stay in an oloroso sherry octave before bottling it for The Octave collection. Distilled in 2012 and aged for 13 years, it comes from cask 3645423 at 53.6% ABV. The small-cask finish brings dark chocolate, toffee apple and raspberry jam to proceedings, with a creamy texture and plenty of spice.

Nose

Toffee apple and raspberry jam, with dark chocolate adding depth.

Palate

Chocolate, sticky toffee and a generous spoonful of raspberry jam.

Finish

Warming spice and dark chocolate, with lingering cooked-fruit sweetness.
