The folks at indie bottler Alistair Walker checked in at Ben Nevis Distillery to select this splendid single malt. Distilled in 2011, the whisky spent a decade resting in an ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, which finally yielded a total of 297 bottles for Alistair Walker's Infrequent Flyers series.
Soaked sultanas and dates lead the way, with distant earthy oak.
Dark chocolate raisins and caramelised pecans mingle with zesty orange peels, before roasted coffee grounds and maple syrup join.
Layers of drying, woody spice, with clove, cinnamon, and bittersweet oak balancing sherried fruits.
