Bell's 2006 Christmas Decanter 70cl Whisky

A commemorative decanter from Bell's, released to mark Christmas 2006. This edition tells the tale of Coldstream Guardsman John Hatfield, who was charged with falling asleep while on duty at Windsor Castle, during the reign of William III, King of England (1689-1702). To prove that he was awake at the crucial hour, he explained that he had heard the 'Great Tom' of Westminster, over 20 miles away, chime 13 times at midnight – a claim that seemed so improbable that it was investigated further and found to be true! Thus Hatfield was acquitted, and when he died at the age of 105 in 1770, the words "Lucky Thirteen" were inscribed on his grave stone.
