Unfortunately, we can't ship Basil Hayden's Kentucky Straight Bourbon to the United States at the moment, but we've got some friends who can.
Basil Hayden's Bourbon dates back to 1796, when master distiller Basil Hayden used a traditional corn base, but mixed in small grains with the mash. A Kentucky straight bourbon with plenty of rye at its core - plenty spicy, well balanced with herbal notes of peppermint and a touch of fruit.
Nose: Cracked black pepper, rye, and oaky spice. Hints of green pepper, lemon peels, and creamy, zesty lemon curd.
Palate: Rice Krispies, toasted cereal progressing to popcorn with gentle marshmallow, custard cream sweetness.
Finish: Toasty popcorn with lashings of butter!

Wow, I am impressed. Very smooth with a nice subtle finish. This is a perfect sipping bourbon. I thing it is too light for mixing but bourbon neat or over ice is incredible. I highly recommend Basil Hayden.

I can't drink most bourbons - the sugar content in the cornmash goes straight to my stomach and makes me ill. Not so with Basil Hayden. I like the light notes and easy drinkability. I am a long time single malt scotch drinker and now that I am older I have moved beyond the heavy peaty ones there too, and my favourite is Cragganmore 12 yr old scotch - which is also a light floral drink. Maybe it's a question of age and changing taste buds, but I have been really impressed with Basil Hayden

I know this is a Bourbon but if you're into Irish whiskey at all then give this a try. Beautifully smooth, not too sweet, and very enjoyable. Similar to a Redbreast 12yo. A friend brought this home from a trip to the States and we ended up drinkin the whole bottle. So ahh yeah, we enjoyed it.

Very smooth, pleasant- but where’s the beef? Little depth or flavour, not competitive with some less expensive bourbons…

This is not the worlds most complex or challenging whiskey. If that’s what you’re looking for then you’ll be happier with a different product. However, this is by far the smoothest, most drinkable bourbon I’ve ever had, and I can’t take points away for it for being too easy to sip on. A very enjoyable experience all round. It’s simply a different animal, and should be judged as such. Deserves a place on any bevvy shelf.

This is one hell of a bourbon 😉 🥃

I would agree with some by saying it lacks a bit of flavor - yet, this is a very easy to sip whiskey. I could easily finish half the bottle in one sitting without a sip of water.... I couldn't say the same for others. I think the lack of intensity makes it more enjoyable. Nose: Brown sugar, chocolate, coffee and I got hints of cola. Like a flat cola.Palate: Corn, mellow, easy and light spice, pepper, mint.

I haven’t wrote a review in a while, I’ve been wanting to try this and have had a lot of whiskies lately, recent gentleman jack, this is way more easy to swallow, it does have that bite but not as hot as the GJ..I like jim beam and knob creek, this is surprisingly a new taste i; bourbon for me, even better than the four roses flag ship, why all the bad reviews? Beats me..

It's ok, I had not tried this one, so another to add to the list. It's got a warmth, but certainly not rough or cheap tasting, there is no real flavour though.I am sad and I keep a list, so out of 44 different bourbon/american whiskey I have tried, this came in at 22, so mid way (based on solely my own opinion), yet one of the more expensive ones.
