Description

The Bardstown Bourbon Company used a mash bill of 36% rye alongside 60% corn and 4% malted barley for this Kentucky straight bourbon and aged it for six years. The high rye content means you can expect a burst of spice alongside silky notes of caramel, vanilla and oak char, making this a splendid sipper and an ideal base for premium cocktails.

Nose

Soft, juicy notes of apricot, caramel, charred oak, and orange blossom are backed by a touch of herbaceous spice beneath.

Palate

Toasted vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg, with bold notes of peppercorns, buttered rye bread, and silky butterscotch.

Finish

A bold finish with a medley of spice, caramel, and rich oak.

Perfumed muscle man in suit

Nose: Elegant woody perfume, sweet popcorn, stone fruits, orange blossom nectar, caramel, roasted barrel & spices. Taste: Sparkling, vanilla, honey, spices, buttered bread, wood. Finish: Floral, honey, woody perfume, very dry. Reflection: This bourbon expresses elegantly but it never loses its original strength. Taiwanese tasters often say that American whiskeys are like muscle men; then this bottle is a perfumed muscle man in suit!
