Behold, single barrel single malt from the Balvenie Distillery. How long did the whisky stay in its single barrel, you ask? Well, for 21 years! Drawn from an refill American oak cask after a lengthy slumber, this expression has taken on oodles of familiar honeyed barley notes, making for a terrific postprandial dram.
Delicate floral vanilla notes up front, with honeycomb, brioche, cinnamon, and maple syrup in support.
Treacle tart and more maple syrup, now with walnut, mature oak, and a touch of caraway.
Sufficiently oaky, with another drizzle of honey.
