Description
A marvellous single malt from Balmenach joins the independent collection from the Thompson Bros. This whisky spent nine years maturing in sherry casks, bringing warming notes of mince pies and dark chocolate to the juicy, fruity barley at its core. A release of 269 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Plum crumble and apricot twists give way to richer Jamaican ginger cake and dark chocolate.
Palate
Cacao nibs, light tannin, cloves and a full chunk of chocolate but none of these sit heavily. A little lighter than the nose suggests.
Finish
‘Well-Sherried’ mincemeat, musty sandalwood, fresh red peppercorns and almond oil.
