Balmenach 16 Year Old - Forgotten Gems
A rare chance to get your hands on whisky from the Balmenach Distillery! This is a 16 year old Balmenach single malt, independently bottled for the Forgotten Gems range, which is all about making sure the last drops of some incredible whisky stocks don't get lost to the labyrinth of time. It was aged in a refill hogshead, and has been bottled up at 45.9% ABV, with just 12 bottles produced! Like we said, the very last drops of some terrific parcels of whisky here!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Brilliantly fragrant and floral, with vanilla blossom, grassy meadows in spring, and zesty citrus oils all waft up from the glass.
Palate
More bright citrus, now in the shape of lime and grapefruit. Oaky spices begin to develop later on, with a kick of peppery rye too.
Finish
Juicy barley, another crackle of peppercorn heat, a final touch of citrus peels.
